Psalm 32:1-5

32 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
    whose sin is covered.
² Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
    and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

³ For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
    my strength was dried up^[b] as by the heat of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin to you,
    and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
    and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

I am sure we’ve all been there. I have. Maybe you’re there now… Harboring unconfessed sin in your life. Hidden sin. Its dangerous. It controls you.

David describes times of unconfessed sin as times where he was weak, heavy, and oppressed. He says his bones wasted away… When we live in sin, we literally waste away spiritually. We can’t pursue God while simultaneously following the sin in our lives.

Take time today to do an inventory of your life. Do you have sin that needs to be confessed? Lay it before the throne of God and accept his forgiveness. Is it a sin that is controlling you? Find someone to confess your sin to and ask that they keep you accountable as you seek to follow God whole-heartedly.

Remember, the person whose sin is forgiven and covered, is blessed!! Be blessed! 

James 5:16- Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

1 John 1:9- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
