II Corinthians 3:4-5

2 Corinthians 3

Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God

Do you believe that God is enough? That He is all you need? I’m sure you’re thinking ‘absolutely!’ But why doesn’t this belief shape the rest of your life?

I think each of us at some point in life, if not right now, has believed that we are not enough- We’re not smart enough, attractive enough, skinny enough, strong enough, skilled enough… Through this lie, we limit ourselves and our abilities.

Even worse though? It keeps us from the work of God. ‘I can’t share the Gospel because I don’t know enough Scripture.’ ‘I can’t serve in church because I’m not good enough at my gift…’ ‘I can’t overcome the temptation and sin in my life because I’m just not a strong enough Christian.’

Maybe you’re right… alone, you are not enough. But you aren’t alone if you are a follower of Christ! God is with you and working through you. And He is enough! In 2nd Corinthians 3, Paul makes it clear that our sufficiency is not of ourselves. Our abilities, gifts, and confidence don’t come from what we know or how prepared we are; they come from being in Christ, and He is always enough.
