Psalm 37: 23-24

This whole chapter (Psalm 37) is full of important reminders. All throughout it says things like “Commit your way to the Lord,” “wait patiently for him,” “trust in the Lord,” and delight yourself in God and “he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Verses 23 and 24 sum up these promises. The Lord determines our steps when we delight in HIS way.

Are you stressing about the future? Unsure of where God is leading? Worried about what you will encounter tomorrow? – Keep your eyes focused on Christ. Consume yourself with the things of God. Seek Him, and he will establish your steps, keeping you on track in His will.

This isn’t easy. Sometimes its scary. Giving up control of our plans to God is against our nature. And just because you are following God doesn’t mean times won’t get tough. But verse 24 promises that when times are hard, and we fall, God is there holding our hand, watching over His children so that we aren’t cast to our destruction.

Not sure where to go or what to do next? Seek God. Wait patiently for His response. Act in obedience and surround yourself with righteousness until then.

Proverbs 3:6- In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
